Willow Court

About

Situated around 500m from the centre of New Norfolk, Willow Court is an imposing precinct holding great significance for the community. As custodians of some of these buildings, Council has a responsibility to ensure that development in the precinct aligns with the community vision and meets our legislated requirements.

Council recognises that activation of Willow Court is crucial to the ongoing development of the town and region, and that community engagement, partnership investment and collaboration is critical to the future of this significant heritage site moving forward.

We have embraced the community vision of connection, activation and visitation to facilitate the reinvigoration of the precinct through investment and development, while being mindful of the history and heritage of the area.

Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Our Valley 2030.

The adaptive reuse and activation of Willow Court has already seen outcomes, with significant partnership development and investment helping guarantee the survival of Willow Court and bringing economic, cultural and community benefits to the Derwent Valley.

The goal of the Council is to redevelop, activate and conserve Willow Court as an integrated part of New Norfolk, a multi-purpose community facility, heritage site and attraction.

Council continues to seek investment opportunities through adaptive reuse that will ensure ongoing funding for the restoration, maintenance and activation of the site over the long term.
