He was also a film historian, journalist, screenwriter, and author who was the first critic to win a Pulitzer Prize for criticism. Ebert was diagnosed with cancer in 2002. This much lauded documentary based on his memoir of the same name, is not to be missed for anyone with a love of film and good writing
